From July 10th to 16th the FISEC-FICEP Games took place in Dunkerque (France). A total of around 750 athletes from 16 different nations competed for medals in seven sports.
After last year’s edition in Klagenfurt (Austria), the journey to the FISEC-FICEP Games this year lead to the northernmost part of France, the historically meaningful city of Dunkerque. Athletes born in 2006, 2007 and 2008 from 16 different nations were there today to find their winners in seven sports – Volleyball, basketball, table tennis, swimming, handball, futsal and athletics.
“The cooperation between the coaches, athletes and the team spirit was unique. It was not only a great experience for the young people from a sporting point of view, they were also able to take something away with them on a social level. Many international friendships were made and the cohesion was not only great across sports, but also across countries”, reports Alexandra Hoffmann, Head of FICEP office.
The young athletes came from Austria, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Flanders, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain. All results can be found online via ugsel.org. Planning for a new edition in 2024 is underway, and a decision should be made by November.
